[hide] Our events series is growing, and we need someone who can plan both educational seminars (in-person and online) and networking parties. The job involves managing our existing Freelancers U seminar series, including maintaining relationships with our presenters and identifying new instructors who can help us expand our offerings. In addition, it requires planning and finding space for networking parties in the five boroughs. The Events Manager will also work with the finance department to develop a revenue model that ensures our events program is self-sustaining.
The right candidate will have experience with event planning, and the ability to devise and carry out a program over the long term (e.g., putting together a series of seminars to occur over a six-month period). It's also important to have a flexible, entrepreneurial approach to work, especially as we develop ways to expand our programs over time, both in NYC and nationwide. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work style are essential.
