We're seeking a talented Project Manager to join our Project Management Team. We're experiencing exceptional growth, driven by new ideas and initiatives. The Project Management Team is responsible for taking these ideas from conception to production. Our creative, dedicated, and agile project team is constantly in search of fresh ideas, new tools and approaches, and original input from team members.
What you'd be doing:
- Project initiation, requirements gathering, design phase facilitation, project planning, and project plan creation and maintenance
- Work with business analysts on project documentation; knowledge and change management; and issues logging, tracking, and resolution
- Pre-project business case development, project prioritization, and resource planning
- Oversee quality assurance and testing planning, execution, and sign-off
- Adapt the approach that best fits the initiative, team, and stakeholders
- Provide conceptual phase support to the executive office on new ideas and directions
- Business process evaluation/re-engineering, gap analysis and creation of business process flows and documents
- Ask a lot of really great questions and propose intelligent solutions or suggestions based on analysis of available information
- Ensure that all meetings, discussions, outcomes, and next steps are memorialized
Experience, skills, and abilities you'll need to have:
- 3+ years of project management experience with exposure to both technical and business initiatives
- Demonstrated end-to-end project management responsibility from kick-off through roll-out
- Experience leading enterprise-level projects and initiatives a must
- Demonstrated ability to manage all project components across functional areas
- Proven understanding and application of project management methodology and tools
- Exceptional organizational, research, information/data gathering, and facilitation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative work style, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Team-oriented with a natural curiosity, a good sense of humor, and a strong work ethic
- Proficiency with office applications, process/system diagramming tools, project management software, and workflow/ticketing systems
- Experience in the health insurance industry or related field a plus, but not required

- Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Linux systems, Debian 5, Centos
- Installation and deployment of physical and virtual machines (VMware preferred)
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of VMware ESX infrastructure

- Deployment of in-house applications
- System maintenance of database servers
- NAS setup and maintenance

Experience and skills you'll need to have:
- 5 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience, including familiarity with Debian and Red Hat
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Experience with VMware ESX, backup, recovery, and clustering
- Applied knowledge of system security and best practices
- Active working knowledge of Bash (advanced scripting experience a plus)
- Experience with Apache configuration and maintenance
- Detail-oriented with the discipline to do day-to-day tasks quickly and competently
- Active working knowledge of regular expressions
- Experience with Subversion (Hudson and Mantis a plus)
- Experience maintaining PostgreSQL and MySQL
- SAN/NAS (NetApp, IBM)
- Active working knowledge of OSI networking model, routing, ARP, DNS, and VPN
- A passion for writing good technical documentation
- Experience with automated monitoring of systems and network equipment (experience with the following software/technologies preferred: Nagios, Syslog, Splunk, Cactl and SNMP)
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and exhibit grace under pressure Self-motivated, able to remain productive and finish assignments on time with minimal oversight
- Good verbal and written communication skills

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive and facilitate strategic development and planning as a framework to manage the organizational performance of Freelancers Union and its subsidiary entities. The ideal candidate for this role will possess at least 5 years of Healthcare/ insurance finance management experience, including financial analysis and reporting, financial modeling and budgeting, and knowledge of insurance accounting and related regulatory compliance issues. The CFO will report to the CEO of Freelancers Union.
Other responsibilities include:
- Facilitate consistent, mission-driven financial strategy across Freelancers Union and its subsidiary entities and act as a business development "incubator" for new business opportunities and the financial requirements to support them.
- Define and manage the financial "big picture" for Freelancers Union to ensure optimal financial performance in support of the organization's mission-driven strategic framework.
- Develop and employ forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's financial operations and business plans.
- Work closely with the Executive team to manage budget processes and link them to Freelancers Union's mission and organizational goals.
- Provide analysis of complex situations, prepare formal presentations, and present to the Board of Directors on the financial health of the organization.
- Manage the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements, audits, and proper filing of all tax returns.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory mandates.
- Protect and secure the financial assets of Freelancers Union and subsidiaries.
- Develop and maintain financial plans, programs and policies consistent with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Direct financial activities (i.e. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll), and cash management including financial planning and reporting, general accounting, group purchasing, reinsurance, fixed assets, audit, preparation of budget, tax and treasury functions
- Assume accountability for internal financial controls and audit liaison, risk based capital management and overall financial management.
- Develop positive relationships with Freelancers Union boards, Department of Insurance and rating agencies with the ability to convey Freelancers Union's unique and social purpose.
Successful candidates will have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; Masters and/or M.B.A. preferred, and will have broad financial experience as well as the following:
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of responsible senior management finance and/or accounting experience, ideally for an established health plan or health insurance company experiencing high growth, C.P.A. certification a plus.
- Strong understanding of strategy and organizational dynamics with the innate ability to adopt and communicate a broad strategic (big picture) view supported by critical financial analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
- Proven ability to perform complex analysis of financial data, including assessment of financially related business capabilities, identification of gaps and development of solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial concepts and data effectively and concisely.
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of mission-related causes, particularly those of Freelancers Union.
- Demonstrated experience creating an inter-affiliate budget and managing all related allocation processes.
- The ability to work in a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
