Marketing in an Economic Downturn
When the economy slows down, it’s time to ramp up your marketing: there may be no better time for freelancers to jump in and fill the gaps that open up. We know there’s work to be had and pockets of the economy that continue to grow. It’s just a question of finding the work and being more assertive than usual to get it.
Join Freelancers Union and Ilise Benun to find out exactly how to adapt to a slow economy by building on existing relationships and cultivating new clients and opportunities.
Ilise Benun speaks about marketing throughout the Unites States and is the author of several books including, The Designer’s Guide to Marketing and Pricing (HOW Design Books, 2008), Stop Pushing Me Around: A Workplace Guide for the Timid, Shy and Less Assertive (Career Press, 2006), and The Art of Self Promotion. She is the co-founder of Marketing Mentor and works closely with freelancers to grow their businesses. She has been featured in national newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Toronto Globe and Mail, Inc. Magazine, Essence, and Working Woman.
