Protecting Your Creative Work

Need a little help navigating copyright and intellectual property law? Do you know who owns the copyright on your creations? Do you know what rights your clients have?

Join Freelancers Union and attorney Stephen Furnari for a discussion on how and why you should protect the work you create. Topics will include:
• Who owns the original ideas you create
• How to protect your brand with trademarks
• How a freelancer should use copyrights
• The benefits of filing your copyrights with the Library of Congress
• Why it's important to your clients that the intellectual property you create for them gets transferred properly

Stephen T. Furnari, Esq. is the Managing Partner of the Corporate & Securities Services Group at the New York firm Furnari Scher, LLP, where he helps entrepreneurs and growing companies achieve their professional and financial goals without getting mired down in lawsuits and government investigations. He is also the founder and President of Law Firm Incubator Suites, New York City’s leading provider of professional office space for solo attorneys and small law firms.
