1. Why did you decide to go freelance? I have always wanted to work for myself. Iâm very self-motivated, and I guess I just donât like others telling me what to do! 2. What tip would you give to a new freelancer or someone who is considering going freelance? I studied environmental education as an undergrad at Hampshire College, and was employed in that profession for several years before I decided to go back to school. I received a degree in graphic design from Pratt and worked for only one year for other companies before heading off on my own. In retrospect, I would have done a little more time âworking for the manâ? before going freelance, to gain valuable experience and mentoring -- that is the tip Iâd give other young professionals. 3. What is your inspiration? My goal is to have a small but thriving firm with a focus on serving clients in the nonprofit sector, and progressive businesses. Because of my environmental background I am very interested in issues of sustainability and am eager to help clients further their missions and commitment in this area.
