Guidance

Hello everyone.I'm new here and i wanted some guidance about how to start freelancing.Any beginners advice or tips about getting started.

  • Hello JAI,
Firstly, I am also a newbie. So, in reply to Your request, I second the effort you made in reaching out to whomever may respond to a simple querie. The very fact that an organization such as freelancers exists wows my mind!

Thirdly, I am just now checking out HIVES with a beginers attitude. What do I make of the fact that for years, and... years, I have worked primarily under the standard [working?] umbrella of an employee / Employer relationship.

Now, I'm not sure if you are in the same situation that, I find myself in, or not.
Basically I feel I need to learn more about the possibility of becoming more of a freelancer and less of an 'employee'. So, again, I'm curious what your situation might be, and/or what advice you would offer, comments you'd make, in lieu of my( 3 )paragraph composition!

    Thanks again for the ice-breaker,
    Sincerely,
    Howard

  • Hey Jai. A newbie over here as well. I got my first client by accident really. She was a former editor of mine and when I reached out to ask for advice she mentioned she had extra work to kick over to me. However, a year or so later and the work has basically dried up and now Im stuck trying to figure out to get other clients.
